Ashley Avis recently wrote and directed a modern day reprisal of Black Beauty which will debut on Disney+ for the holidays featuring Kate Winslet as the voice of “Beauty”. As a former equestrian, Ashley was shocked to learn about the plight of the mustangs in the West and was forever moved to try to help make change. In Black Beauty, she mirrors Anna Sewell’s original intentions of giving voices to the horses of her time by making Beauty a wild horse in today’s world.
